About BAGF

A festival rooted in Borneo.
Pointed at the future.

BAGF supports Sarawak's vision of becoming a leading digital and creative-economy hub by nurturing local talent, attracting industry players, and connecting Borneo's creators with global opportunities.
The Vision

From the longhouse to the pipeline.

Borneo has always been a place of stories, carried through craft, dance, music and the silhouette of the hornbill in flight. BAGF takes that storytelling tradition and points it at the screens of tomorrow: feature animation, AAA games, interactive media and the IP that will define the next decade of Southeast Asian content.

The ambition is direct: position Sarawak and Borneo as a regional centre for animation, games and digital innovation by investing in talent, importing expertise, and giving local studios a platform to be seen by publishers and audiences worldwide.

What We Do

Three pillars.
One festival.

01

Nurture Local Talent

Student portfolio reviews, hands-on workshops, scholarship signposting, and direct hiring conversations between Sarawakian creators and global studios.

02

Attract Industry

Bring publishers, investors and senior studio leads into Kuching for business matching, elevator pitches and the chance to meet local IP at the source.

03

Position the Region

Build BAGF into a recognised marker of ASEAN's animation and games calendar, earning Sarawak a permanent seat at the table.

The Brand

Every detail tells the story.

The BAGF identity is a deliberate fusion. Bold blocky typography meets the hornbill, while tribal zigzag patterns frame a 3D-textured masthead that nods to gaming and animation pipelines.

Yellow and black bring energy and authority; earth, teal and red bring warmth, play and impact across the full festival system.
